  • Medication and Sharps Take-Back Program

Concerns over the safety and environmental risks associated with improperly disposed medicine, such as the discovery of small amounts of medicine in drinking water have led to the creation of medication disposal services. Our pharmacy participates in the Marin County Pharmaceutical Take-Back/Return Program, which is California’s first medication take-back program. We provide free disposal of unused medications and recycling of pharmaceutical waste including syringes, needles and lancets.

We accept unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins and supplements, empty inhalers, creams and lotions, liquids in leak-proof containers, and pet medications. We cannot accept controlled medications, empty pill containers, or aerosol cans.

To dispose of your pharmaceutical waste items,

follow these instructions (PDF) and bring them to our pharmacy.
